Latest Scor News

Congratulations to the ceili dance team and the ballad group from Omagh St Enda’s who won All Ireland titles at the Scor Sinsear finals, which were held in Killarney at the weekend. This was a remarkable achievement for these talented competitors who despite stiff opposition from the other three provinces put in remarkable performances to secure victory. It is the third time in four years that St Enda’s have won the ceili dance competition and four of the dancers have been involved in all three victories Caoileann McEnhill, Tracy Cassidy, Aidan O’Neill and David Tierney.  The four newcomers this year were Orla Byrne, Kerri Ann Bresnahan, Niall McEnhill and Paul Breen. For the ballad group this was their first success after being narrowly pipped at the post in the previous two years.  The victorious group were Nuala O’Neill, Noelle Toner, Caoileann McEnhill, Ronan Gallagher and Caoileann McEnhill. For Caoileann and Niall McEnhill it was double success as they were members of both groups and for Caoileann it was her fifth All Ireland medal as she also won the Solo ballad category in 2006.
St Enda’s now sit at the top of the leader board in Ireland having won fourteen titles in the 39 years that Scor has been running. This is a remarkable achievement for the club and for all the winners down through the years especially Vincent Young who has been involved with all the victories.
