Weekly news round-up - Thursday 14th June, 2012

Cycle and BBQ - Last Saturday's annual cycle and BBQ proved to be a spectacular success once again and  a big thank you goes out to everyone who assisted in any way to make it a great event.

Almost 100 cyclists took part in the event and helped raise much money for our youth teams and general club development. Thanks to the support crews, medical personnel, our sponsors of refreshments, vans and equipment and everyone who assisted with traffic management. Thanks also to those who provided the BBQ and assisted in the general preparation of the clubrooms for what turned out to be a very enjoyable evening.

Senior football - This weekend it's back to football action with our seniors and reserves away to Kildress on Saturday evening at 6pm and 7.30pm.

Minor football - The minors also return to league action this week with the A team at home to Cappagh on Tuesday at 7.30pm while the Devs travel to Killeeshil.

U14 football and hurling - The U14 footballers had a league game on Wenesday and lost narrowly to Errigal Ciaran in a high scoring game. They are due to play again on Monday in the  Brothers Park when they host Cappagh but this game is in doubt due to and U14 hurling game. The U14 hurlers recorded a significant championship victory over Beragh last Thursday on the scoreline of 8-6 to 4-1 in rain-lashed Healy Park and at due to play Shamrocks on Monday night next at 7.30 pm in Healy Park in the semi-final.

Hurling coaching - Coaching continues on Thursday evening in the Brothers Park at 6.30pm. All U8, U10 and U12 hurlers should also attend.

U12 football - Our U12 footballers opened their season on Monday with a blitz against Cappagh.  This Saturday they travel to Dunmoyle for a tournament event and have another blitz on Monday in Owen Roes.

U8 football blitz - The U8 footballers travel to Strabane on Saturday morning for a blitz with transport leaving Brook Street at 9.30am.

U10 coaching - U10 football and hurling coaching takes place in the Brothers Park on Saturday from 10am.

U16 football - Training for U16 Devs resumes on Tuesday next at 6pm in the Brothers Park.

Camogie - Camogie coaching for all girls from 6-16 years resumes in the Brothers Park on Friday at 7.45pm.

Bottle caps - Club members are reminded to keep collecting the blue Lucozade Sport bottle caps and to bring them to any coaching session. Anyone who collects a minimum of ten caps will be entered into a monthly draw for a free St. Enda's shirt. The May winner was Byron O'Neill. The bottle cap competition closes at the end of August and the sports club which collects the most caps stands to win £9,000. Please keep collecting.

Recreational football - Anyone interested in taking part in a recreational football blitz for men not currently registered with reserve or senior football is asked to get in contact with Declan McGirr on 00353878278851.

Lotto - Last week's Club Lotto numbers were 2, 15, 19, 25 and 28. There were no Jackpot winners. Four draw winners of £25 are Niall Bowes, Declan O'Neill, Des Maginness and Grainne O'Neill. Next week's Jackpot is £3,250.

Guess the Score - The Guess the Score prize for last Sunday's Tyrone match was shared between Monica McCarroll and Bernie Conway. Thank you to everyone who supported this.

Summer Camp - Keep free Monday 20th August to Friday 24th August for a week-long St. Enda's Summer Camp. This year's camp will provide a feast of Gaelic Football, Hurling and Camogie for boys and girls from the district. Full registration details coming soon.
