Weekly news round-up - Thursday 5th April, 2012

Senior Football League - The 2012 senior and reserve league campaign gets off the mark on Easter Tuesday with Edendork the visitors to Healy Park. First out of the blocks are the Reserves at 4.30pm with the seniors in action at 6pm. Everyone in the club wish new manager Liam Grugan and his management team and players the very best of luck in the season ahead and we appeal for a good support from members next Tuesday and in the weeks ahead for what promises to be a long, tough campaign.

Senior Ladies - Good luck also to the senior ladies who open their league campaign with an away game to Cappagh this Saturday at 6pm.

Minor football - The minors continue their league campaign next Thursday with the Devs home to Aghaloo at 8pm while the A team are away to Dromore.

U14 Hurling - The U14 hurlers played their first home game in Healy Park on Monday in many years, but despite producing a very spirited display they lost to Cappagh. Next Monday they are home to Dromore at 7pm.

Youth coaching - Coaching for U12 and U14 hurlers switches this week to Saturday at 9.45am in Brothers Park. U14 football coaching follows at 11am. U12 football coaching takes place from 1-2.30pm also in Brothers Park. There will be no U8-10 football or hurling coaching this Saturday but Gaelic Start will continue as normal, 10-12noon.

Croke Park - St. Enda's will be represented in Croke Park next Tuesday for the Tyrone Activity Day with Sean Laird, Garbhan McKenna, Matthew McClements (hurling), Caleb Haughey and Cormac Hurley (football) all taking part. Good luck to all.

Ceili night - As our Ceili dance team prepare for the  All-Ireland Scór final in Killarney on the 21st April members are asked to keep free Saturday 14th April at 8pm for our Scór fundraiser night, "Ceili Curry & Craic". Special guests will be the Errigal Novelty Act. Tickets priced at £7 can be purchased from the club bar, any of the dancers or from David Tierney, 07742242072.

Banquet tickets - Orders are also being taken for tickets for our 80th Anniversary Gala Dinner on the 23rd November. Tickets for the black tie banquet in the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran banquet cost just £50 each and members can avail of a special easy payment scheme where tickets and accommodation can be paid off by monthly direct debit. Presidents night - Last Saturday evening, the club paid tribute to former long serving Treasurer and PRO Michael Brogan at a special function in the clubrooms. Michael was President for the 2010 season and was honoured for his commitment and dedication to the club. Another long serving club official, Declan O'Neill was named as the new Honourary President for the 2012 season and everyone wishes him well in his new role.

Lotto - Last week's Lotto numbers were 4, 9, 16, 24 and 29. No jackpot winners. Two winners of £50 each with four numbers are Mary & Kate of Newtownstewart and Mrs M McKenna of Omagh. Next week's Jackpot is £2,750.

Match stewards - Healy Park hosts a double bill of action this Sunday with an Ulster Minor Hurling League final at 12.30pm followed by Tyrone v Monaghan in the NFL at 2.30pm. All club stewards must report by 12.00 noon.

Cycle - The club's fifth annual sponsored cycle and BBQ will take place this year on Saturday 9th June with an 80 mile route mapped out to mark the club's 80th Anniversary. The cycle will start and finish in Healy Park, travelling via Belleek, Enniskillen, Irvinestown and back to Omagh. Everyone is encouraged to get out to build up the cycle miles and various cyclists will group each Tues, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The mid week sessions will leave Homebase carpark at 6pm and the weekend sessions will leave the same location at 9am. As always, all newcomers are welcome. Orders are now being taken for various cycle gear ranging from light showerproof jackets to warmer winter jackets. Please come along to any of the sessions and make your choice.
