St. Enda's Reserves got their 2012 ACL Division One campaign off to the perfect start today at Healy Park with a five points victory over Coalisland.
Despite conceding a goal in the opening few minutes, the St. Enda's men eventually regained their composure to take control of the match and run out comfortable winners in the end.
Star of the show was Gary Taggart whose haul of 1-3 proved crucial while the experienced Paddy Doherty tapped over four points to help secure the victory.
Taggart's goal came in the 21st minute and was decisive in securing a comeback. Paddy Doc then added a point to edge St. Enda's ahead three minutes before the interval while Taggart finished off the first half scoring to make it 1-5 to 1-3.
The teams traded points in the opening minutes of the second half but St. Enda's upped the tempo across the pitch as the half wore on to pull ahead. Points from Taggart, corner back Johnny Browne, Paddy Doherty and Martin Flanagan in the final quarter extended the gap to six points with Coalisland adding a consolation score in injury time.
